What is the greatest acting performance of all time?

How about Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone in The Godfather. The studio did not want him originally, but after seeing Brando do a screen test the executives were sold. Brando stole the show, even with numerous other great performances and he had one of the greatest lines of all time, ‘I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.’ He ended up winning the Oscar for Best Actor and is still seen as one of the most iconic roles in movie history.

One of the greatest performances I have ever seen was Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird. Not only did he look like the character I had imagined from the book, but he performed exactly like Atticus. His performance was so good he beat out Peter O'Toole for Lawrence of Arabia for best actor at the Oscars.
