    I think it is One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It is one of three movies to win the big 5 at the Oscars which are Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress. It has such a great story, which gets you emotionally connected. Nurse Ratched is one of the greatest villains in movie history and this may just be Jack Nicholson’s best performance, which is saying something.

   I really enjoyed the Matrix and believe it should be in this discussion. It deals with a possible human fear of computers and machines gaining artifice intelligence and creating a war to rule us. It has aspects of reality, religion, math, and science all mixed together with fiction and fantasy. This is a movie that was a few years ahead of its time. Plus the action and graphics were cutting edge and added to the great story line.

    I would personally have to say The Godfather. It may be a difficult movie to watch for some as it is a long slow movie, but for me, it adds to the appeal as it allows the story to unfold and it stays true to the book. It’s very story and character driven, and the proof is it winning Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor for Marlon Brando, while also getting 3 nominations for Supporting Actor for Al Pacino, James Caan, and Robert Duvall, and a Best Director Nomination for Francis Ford Coppola. In my opinion Coppola was snubbed the Best Director award as I think it was his vision that made this movie into one of the most iconic and influential movies of all time. It is also one of the few movies to get 100% approval on Rotten Tomatoes, which is one of the top websites for movie critics.
