   In Philippines, the health conditions are not so good. There are estimated 2,000 hospitals of which about 40% were government and 60% private. According to official’s estimates, 1,965 cases of HIV were reported in 2003. Other estimates have as many as 12,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in 2005. There is 1 physician for per every 838 people, and one hospital bed per every 769 people. The problem is the retention of skilled practitioners. 70% of gradates nursing go abroad for work.
