The Tragedy of Macbeth is commonly as Macbeth and the play is written by William Shakespeare about a regicide of Scottish King and its aftermath. It is Shakespeare's shortest novel and is believed to be written by sometime between 1603 and 1607. The earliest account of a performance was of Shakespeare's play which is written in April 1611, when Simon Forman recorded seeing such a play at the Globe Theatre. It was the first one which published in the Folio of 1623, possibly from a book for a specific performance.

Shakespeare's sources for the tragedy are from the accounts of King Macbeth of Scotland, Macduff, and Duncan in the year 1587,which was the history of England, Scotland and Ireland and it was familiar to Shakespeare and his other contemporaries. However, the story of Macbeth was told by Shakespeare little relation to real events in the history of Scotland, as Macbeth was then admired and an able monarch.

Backstage Some believe that the play is cursed, and it will not mention its title aloud, and referring to it instead by names such as "the Scottish play". Over some centuries, the play has attracted some of the best actors in the role of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. It has then been adapted to film, television, opera, novels, comic books, and other media.
