Toyota Tacoma has long been successful in United States, it is a very reliable truck, and it offers many special features and matches the toughness of it Ford and GMC competitors and nowadays customized trucks have evolved into this big business. Toyota has been keeping an eye on the owners and their interests in different types of trucks and also released its own S version for the year 2001.
In order to create the S-Runner's sport truck look, Toyota lowered the 4x2 Xtracab pickup truck by an inch and fitted the performance-minded Tokico gas shocks. Other S-Runner suspension modifications include increased-rate springs, front and rear anti-sway bars, and the modifications to the power the steering to increase the effort and feel. Toyota's 3.4L/190-hp DOHC V-6 is now bolted to a proper five-speed manual gearbox, and the exhaust system is now tuned to evoke muscle car memories. The monochrome paint is now available in two hues, one is Radiant Red and the other is Black Sand Pearl, a color that works with sunlight well. The S-Runner rides on P235/55R16 Bridgestone Potenza RE910 stickies as they complement the massaged underpinnings to keep the truck very well planted to the ground. This pickup truck is just like a ball to drive due to its smooth powertrain. Pickups often get twitchy in the rear and during cornering and on the bumpy pavement, but the S-Runner's tail always stays planted. The S-Runner costs about $19,400 at the dealers .
