    Joan of Arc was known for leading the French army to several victories during the Hundred Years’ War. She was later captured and put on trial by the English and burned at the stake when she was 19 years old. 25 years after her death she was pronounced innocent and declared a martyr after Pope Callixtus III authorized an inquisitorial trial.
