Undivided India , in official use, is a term which refers to the major part of South Asia which comprised India under the British Raj and included the current sovereign states of India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. It included most of the Princely states of India, but not Nepal and Bhutan, and also not Burma.

References to undivided India are found in legal enactments of the Republic of India, including its Citizenship Act 1955, which states that in the context of the Act "undivided India means India as defined in the Government of India Act 1935".

The Government of India Act 1935 defines "India" as follows:

"India" means British India together with all territories of any Indian Ruler under the suzerainty of His Majesty, all territories under the suzerainty of such an Indian Ruler, the tribal areas, and any other areas which His Majesty in Council may, from time to time, after ascertaining the views of the Federal Government and the Federal Legislature, declare to be part of India.

There are many other references to undivided India, most also meaning "India" as it existed just before the partition of India into The modern-day republic of India and the state of Pakistan.
