England is the largest country in the United Kingdom and also one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. There is a wide variety of exciting things to do and places to visit in England. Some of the most beautiful places of England are:
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire. Stonehenge is not only one of the most popular places to visit in Europe, but it is also one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. It was erected over 4000 years ago and according to folklore was constructed by the mythical wizard Merlin.
    Hadrian’s Wall:
Hadrian Wall was built by the Romans nearly 2000 years ago. Hadrian’s Wall served as a stone and timber fortification to protect the far reaches of the Empire from the Brigantes, a celtic tribe who controlled a large section of Northern England. Large sections of the wall remain to this day, making it an excellent place to gain insight in to the power and prestige of the Roman Empire.
    The Eden Project:
The Eden Project is one of the most exciting modern projects in the UK. The complex in Cornwall houses 100,000 plants in two giant transparent domes, each recreating different global climate conditions. It is situated in an abandoned clay pit, it is a testament to creative and scientific ingenuity.
This charming Roman city located 100 miles west of London is a World Heritage site famous for its hot springs, Roman period baths, and medieval history. The city offers visitors a wide variety of activities from pubs and nightclubs to incredible museums and delectable restaurants. Bath is also well known for its beautiful Georgian and Victorian architecture, making it one of the best places to visit in England.
Canterbury is the home to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Canterbury is one of the most popular destinations in England and for good reason. It features many remarkably preserved medieval buildings including Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury Castle, and St Augustine’s Abbey. Besides these impressive and historic sites, the city is also home to a variety of museums and art galleries.
