When it is the end of December, the Christmas holidays and the New Year celebrations start taking place all across the world. The part of world where I live, there are no such celebrations like Christmas or New Year. I would like to know about the countries famous for holiday and New Year celebrations.

The New Year and Holiday celebrations are observed in most parts of the world. However, there are some countries in Asia and particularly some Islamic countries in the Middle East where the so called English New Year is not given much importance. According to the Islamic calendar, the Islamic month of Muharram is the beginning of New Year since the dates are observed according to the lunar movements. On the other hand, some other countries in Asia and most countries in the west massively participate in New Year celebrations. The countries famous for holiday and New Year celebrations include Australia, England, India, United States, China, Scotland, Greece, Israel, Japan, Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands.
