I just purchased a whirlpool duet series washer/dryer about a month ago. The dryer has been hit and miss for working. Usually it seems just readjusting the cloths will do the trick but now even that isn't working. I have check the fuse, cleaned the lint filter, unplugged and plugged back in. It powers up fine, but when I hit start I just get 3 beeps! Help!

Check out the wiring sustem, as many whirlpool duet series washer/dryer's are not wired properly. In order to solve the wiring issue, remove the plastic paneling over the front of the control panel, it should slide out from the side. There you will find some screws located at the corners of the control panel. Carefully remove the screws and flip the control panel over. At the bottom of each k**b or button should be a small metal assembly with two wires running from it to the circuit board set further inside the dryer. Now carefully examine every wire, make sure its secured properly, as most often, they simply work themselves loose and need a dose of lead solder to fix the problem. If nothing is loose, inspect the wires and terminals for black spots or char marks. These are indicators that the wire is damaged and needs to be replaced. If any char marks are found on the circuit board itself, the board has been fried, and the whole thing will have to be replaced.
