I am a very big football fan and definitely remember the highly drafted and touted OLB as well as his demise since his entry into the league in 2009. Based on his school production, immense physical gifts and size Aaron Curry quickly and repeatedly looked like a totally different player at the NFL level.

After returning 3 interceptions for TDs in his final year at West Virginia he seemed lost in pass coverage at the pro level. It quickly became apparent that the main reason Curry has failed to not only live up to his immense potential but even be a decent player in the League is because he seems to lack football instincts. What this leads to is an inability to read run and pass plays appropriately as well as a habit for hesitating or taking the wrong angle as a tackler. Even though he was fast it didn't matter much if he was headed in the wrong direction.

It is sad in a sense for Curry who will always be looked at as a bust if he can't find success. Perhaps it was the failure of NFL scouting personnel to assess his actual potential as a player. Maybe they deemed a 5th rounder to be a top 5 pick?
