I can't understand why april fool's day is a calendear holidyay in european countries.

    The tradition of April's fool day started in the Sixteenth century Europe, it is a holiday celebrated throughout the world. It finds its origin in the ancient times when the Roman Pope ordered the calenders to be shifted from Julian to Gregorian. With this shift New Year's date from 1st April was shifted to 1st feb. This news spread slow due to communication gaps, and those who celebrated new year on 1st April were termed as April fools.
