Cotton clothing tends to leave lint (fluff particles) in the mashine after a wash whereas Polyester doesn't but does attract the left over lint from a previous wash.

Don't mix Cotton & Polyester in the same wash and keep fluffy towels kitchen towels seperate.

If you have done a washload with a lot of fluffy producing garments give the machine a wash by adding a little white vinegar. Let the machine do it's thing for an hour then do your next washload.

Also turn clothing inside out as that helps keep the fluff off..
