The right lung is seperated into three lobes while the left only has two, and because the heart sits more to the left in the average human the left lung has to make room for it making it a little smaller.

The right lung of a human is larger than the left one. This is because of the space and placement of the heart. Left lung is of 2 lobs while Right lung is of 3 lobs.
