   This poem speaks about relation bet. two persons One from india and another from enland.It shown futility of man made social customs.Pertab singh maharaj of jodhpur had an english friend.when pertabs' friend dies there were only three persons to carry the coffin of an englishmen but pertab went on to do this job as fourth person.all the jodhpurians said that pertab had lost his caste because he had took coffin of an englishmen but pertab was not feeling anything because acc. to him it was right to give support to coffin of his friend.

   This poem talks about india and its cast system. this poem tells us that when sir pertab's friend dies ther are only 3 people who can carry his coffin. the priest suggests they tell a sweper to carry the coffin(because they thought a sweper dosent have any caste to lose).But pertab disagreed this opinion and he carrys the coffin. The next day the priest comes up to pertab and tells he lost his caste so pertad gets angry, scolds them and send them away

    The poem by Sir Henry Newbolt is about the cast system in India.Maharaj of Jodpur had an English man as his friend. But soon the english man died. There are only threee people to carry his coffin as four are needed.So Maharaj goes ahead to carry the coffin.The next day the holy saints and ministers of the kingdom ,said that the king lost his cast,.but the king sent them away with anger as he felt it was his pride to carry his friends coffin.
