    Hi,
Swedish Massage uses long gliding strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of muscles, generally in the direction of blood flow toward the heart, and sometimes combined with active and passive movements of the joints. It is used to promote general relaxation, improve circulation and range of motion, and relieve muscle tension.

After receiving Swedish Massage, many of my clients are extremely relaxed.  So in addition to advising them to drink plenty of water, I also have the client take their time getting off the table.  I ask that they sit up for a moment on the table prior to stepping off and getting dressed.  I also schedule extra time at the end of the session (approximately 15 minutes) to have the client sit, relax and drink water before driving home.  Whenever possible, I also advise my clients to get some extra rest after their session to take full advantage of the relaxing benefits of their massage.
