    Hi,
    The nurse should have had the doctor write a prescription for you while you were there, so that was their fault--but you can just go back to that office &tell them what the nurse said &the doctor should be able to write one for you.. you would then call back where ever you went to make the sonogram appt for and then you would be all set! Just bring the order (prescription) in when you go for your appt. The reason they said it would be cheaper is because on an order, the dr must write a diagnosis (reason for the exam being done) so that way insurance will cover it. Otherwise, it would be looked at as just a personal test done for "no reason" and insurance policies won't pay, even if you personally say the reasoning (they need an MD's assurance..)
