car starts then cuts off,I have to hit the gas in order for it to stay running.Whats going on ?

   Based on my experience with cars, there could be a number of different reasons for this problem. First of all, you may have to adjust the idle speed for your car. This is the RPM of the car when it is at rest, without any choke or race applied. Besides that, your automatic choke may be malfuntioning, meaning that until your car is warmed up enough, the idle speed of your car will be very low. Besides that, you may have your fuel pipes clogged with some sort of residue or pieces of something from some bad gas. The best thing to do is to get it checked by a certified mechanic.
