   Pros? That's easy. The confederation was a way of ensuring that the states had a right to live under the laws they chose and not be puppets of northern morality. The southerners felt that the north was the big brother and thought it knew what was best for the south. The confederation didn't feel that they were getting their fair share as states, especially with a president elected without a single southern vote. It was their way of protecting their interests.
