hi ! is there a generic for hyzaar. i need to know

   The first patent for Hyzaar currently expires in 2009. This is the earliest date that a generic version of Hyzaar could become available.
   
   However, there are other circumstances that could come up to extend the exclusivity period of Hyzaar beyond 2009. This could include such things as lawsuits or other patents for specific Hyzaar uses. Once Hyzaar goes off patent, there may be several companies that manufacture a generic version.

   My doctor has started me on Hyzaar.  He says it is going generic.  
   Can anyone confirm? The Web site that I order my meds on says no generic available.   But one of the drug pettlers that visit my doctors office had to tell him this.  That is why they are not giving out anymore samples.
   
   We will see.   the name brand is expensive.

   My doctor's told me that there are no free samples of Hyzaar, because a generic is coming out in April.  Does anyone have verification of this date?
