   Hi There,
   Shortly before lunchtime yesterday spectators were removing their waterproofs and pullovers, sipping their beer and enjoying the warm Muirfield sunshine. Tiger Woods, widely expected to make his charge on the third leg of a historic Grand Slam, was limbering up on the practice range next to the ninth fairway. There was no sign of the carnage that was to come.
   
   The Met Office forecast for southern Scotland had talked of "rain becoming more showery in west" and the chance of "brisk winds", but few could have predicted what was to unfold. By 2pm, this exposed part of East Lothian was gripped by some of the most brutal weather ever witnessed on a golf course. By early evening the 131st Open Championship had been turned on its head. Woods was signing for a round of 81, the worst in his professional career, while home favourite Colin Montgomerie was completing a round of 84 - an astonishing 20 shots more than his course record the previous day.
