IF you open the program windows expolorer and open my computer you can see all the drives recognized by your laptop. Find your music folder the main one with the subfolders under it (the top one in the tree of music) right click it and select copy then navigate to the external drive and right click in it (now you can make a new folder called music if you want) select paste and wait for the music to arrive. Note: A large number of files takes a long time on an older PC. Check carefully that it did as you wished. If you are satisfied that the music is there and it will play form the external device you could then delete that files on the laptop. Caution: Once deleted from the loptop they will be gone unless they did get copied to the laptop.
Please give me credit for this explination.
