how do you change the spark plugs on a 1991 toyota pickup 4 cyl.?

I was able to do the 1st and 4th but the 2nd and 3rd are somewhat behind a heat cover that is attached to the head (i think).  Can it be done without removing anything?  I can get the socket in but cannot put on the wrench as there is not enough room.
