In kestrel for a knave love affected one of the major characters billy casper in numerous ways.Billy was't given any attention or love from his family, well he didn't quite have a family. He lived with his mother who was described as a prostitute and his 'so called' brother jud,who always takes advantage over him.Billy wasn't given the love and attention needed although he was described as a good for nothing .At school he was discriminated,at home he was beaten up and in his environment(on the estate)he was seen as nobody.Billy's only hope was with his Father, until he left.Billy was empty hearted ,then along came kes and replaced the love of billy's father.Billy was happy again ,kes represented his dreams, ambitions. But unfortunately Jud killed kes for some reason or the other.Billy was left alone again,no love,no attention.
