i have interest in mechanical engineering but by mistake i took IT.WHAT SHOULD I DO

   Depending on how far along you are maybe you can switch over to mechanical engineering. in the first year you might have some of the same courses; try to talk to someone at the uni to see how it can be done without you losing the time you put into it.
   
   If you are almost at the finish line; it maybe worth it to finish it.

   depends, were your living sir.
   if your from the UK- you may need the basic knowledge
   therefore theres certain B-TEC courses out there
   for you to take, before applying for any job based
   mechanical engineering- if not theres 'apprenticeships'
   out there- which means your getting paid whilst learning.
