is there a sound year like a light year?? and if not why not?

    no, there isn't anything such as a sound year. I'm guessing this is probably because sound travels much slower than light so it would be kind of useless to is it as a unit of measurement.

    A light-year or light year (symbol: ly) is a unit of length, equal to just under ten trillion kilometres. As defined by the International Astronomical Union (which is the body which has the jurisdictional authority to promulgate the definition), a light-year is the distance that light travels in a vacuum in one Julian year.

    The speed of sound is inconsistent. It varies by media it travels though, and unlike light you can't measure it in a vacuum (Which is how a lightyear is measured) because sound can't travel through a vacuum.
