issues texting on my lg dare

my LG Dare types "$150" whenever I type "$" -- it automatically adds the "150" -- how do I stop this? And when I press "#" -- it automatically types out a long row of random characters.  Can you please help?

    That is very odd.Try to take it back for a new one.I wish I could help you more but that is the only way that I know to fix it but I might be wrong and someone smarter will tell you the right thing to do!
