my fan blades quit spinning but i can still feel that the motor is on

my fan is a commercial grade high velocity fan. it was working fine but the blades just quit spinning but i can still here that the motor is running

    I just bought the fan after i turn it on the blades stop spinning if in up right position. the motor is still running and if i force blades they will connect but it seems as if something is stopping it
