    Wales, a United Kingdom nation that is part of the Great Britain Isle is a country very rich in history and tradition. Given such a past, the nation has several important national symbols. These include the following items that symbolize the nation:


    The Red Dragon - far and away Wales' national symbol, the Red Dragon is featured on the nation's flag and has been used to represent the country since as early as 846 AD.


    The Leek - the vegetable is an official emblem of Wales, worn on St. David's Day March first of every year.


    The Daffodil - the beautiful yellow flower is the national flower of Wales and is known as Peter's Leek in Welsh.


    The Red Kite and Sessile Oak - the national representative of wildlife as well as the national tree.
