   Hi Sir!
   when the fridge doesn't get cold it's because the defrost timer is broken which allows frost to build up to such a degree that the fan can't blow air through the cooling coils, so no cooling occurs.
   
   One simple way you can test this is to turn off your fridge for a while which will cause the frost to melt. Then, if you turn it back on, it will cool for a while until the frost builds up again. Replacing the timer is really very simple.
   
   It's just a little clock motor encased in a plastic box. There are some electric spade lugs on the box with wires attached, ( I think it's two, but it may be three), anyway,you can buy a new timer from an appliance parts store for a few bucks,( they're cheap), and take the old one out, pull off the old wires, and slip the same wires in the same order on the new timer, and presto! the thing is done.
   
   Often the timer is located at the bottom of the fridge behind the vented exhaust strip that runs across the bottom of the fridge. It's held on by a couple of screws. If you take the make and model of the machine to the parts store they can tell you where it's located and sell you the part at the same time.
