   In terms of national ranking according to 4 International Colleges & Universities as of 2012, Saint Mary's University achieved a national ranking of 52 among 98 recognized institutions. It is obviously very difficult to rank schools of differing sizes, specialties and the many longer term factors that are to be considered.

   
   

   That being said, Saint Marys was ranked 8th among primarily undergraduate universities in Canada by the highly reputable MacLean's magazine national ranking of Canadian universities.
