A variety of herbal home remedies may help treat nasal allergies. Try drinking 1 or 2 cups a day of chamomile tea to prevent swollen nasal passages. Chen-pi taken in tincture form may prevent allergic reactions. Take 10 to 15 drops in 1/4 cup of water three times a day.
Ginger also lessens allergic inflammations. Take 1,000 milligrams three to four times a day. Horseradish may help ease congestion. Take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of prepared horseradish daily until symptoms improve.
Take 150 to 300 milligrams of pinebark or grapeseed extract daily to stop a runny nose. Quercetin can help prevent seasonal allergies if taken daily about six to eight weeks before allergy season begins. Take 125 to150 milligrams three times a day.
Rooibos tea acts as a natural antihistamine. Stinging nettle can provide dramatic relief from hay fever and stops a runny nose.
