    Hi,
There are three general outlooks to look upon when seeking a developing country.
    1. Its GDP(Gross domestic product) or in layman's terms we call it the economy of that country should have a growth ratio higher than the developing ones. lets say it is between 8 - 10 % and also the per capita GDP is quite less as it may be plagued with problems like corruption, inefficient distribution and a huge population to feed. Also note that it may heavily depend upon foreign aid.
2.It may lag behind on certain points such as infrastructure, luxury needs, lack of tourism, filthy cities, inefficient communication and distribution network or it may be marred by violence, corruption or other misdeeds.
3.a developing country has a peculiar pattern of various statistics which include not so world famous cities, many people below poverty line, famine, hunger, diseases, malnourished children and adults, skewed s*x ratio, more fertility among women and higher infant mortality rate.

Look out for nations facing these problems and then look whether they are really taking steps to curb these in order to attain a developed nation status.

    hope it helps
