I have seen so many types of fish, that I cannot even remember their names. I have also noticed that the fish in the sea are of various sizes. Just for the sake of my knowledge, I would like to know about the smallest fish that is found in the sea.

The smallest fish found in the sea as far as the size is concerned is called Sardine. They are also known as Pilchards and are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which helps in reducing the chances of cardiovascular disease. According to information, the fish that is shorter in length than 6 inches (15 cm) are sardines, while the larger ones are called pilchards. It is worth-mentioning here that Sardines contain lower level of mercury as compare to other fish eaten b y humans. Sardines are quite rich in nutrients and are widely sold being canned. Besides, the fresh sardines are mostly grilled, pickled and also smoked.
