why are black spots on my printed page?

    Does this ink spot persist if you change the black cartridge for a new one? If not, it's just a faulty cartridge seal. If it persists, you must have a leak from the print-head somewhere - this would probably require you to dismantle the printer to locate it. For example, the waste ink pipe may be blocked and the head is just swimming in black ink (the one you use the most).
