why is the ocean salty?

why is the ocean salty? I read somewhere but i dont believe...is the ocean salty because of whale sperm?

    The oceans are said to be salty because of the minerals and salts underwater..... it's no way whale's sperm!

     Well, its definitely not salty due to whale sperm, as whales are not commonly found in all the oceans.

    Oceans contain the saltiest water as they have 50 million billion tons of dissolved solids, in the form of salts and minerals, which it picks up from soil of the river beds on its way. These are all scientific facts and there is no such thing as salty whale sperms in oceans
