I was a passenger in my own car and got an open container ticket for $205, no points, just a fine. The top of the ticket says its a traffic violation, so will this go on my driving record? Also is this a misdemeanor even though the ticket says violation and will it go on my criminal record?

Traffic voilation laws vary from state to state, like  in NJ it's just like a parking ticket. Convict gets no  points, and no time in jail. The person is only supposed to go to  court and pay a fine. One can even appeal for fine reduction.
