wins failed load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt. help me fix this

im not sure where or how to repair ,reinstall,replace or retreat? what does corrupt mean? do i have a virus? is it maleware? a trojan? worm?

    more information is needed.
    What were you doing prior to this to generate this error?  Upgrading to Win 7? Vista?  
    Can you boot into Safe mode?
    If you were upgrading and the upgrade crashed, it is possible to be fixed, but you will need to use some Dos commands.
