    Hello,

Here are some resources on the net :

    http://www.shilamehta.com/DancesOfIndia.htm

    http://www.pir.net/~beth/Dance/mudras.html

To greet a friend or another Indian, they join their hands (palms together), bow down in front of the other person, and say Namaste, Namaskar, or Pranam. Indians believe that the Lord dwells in the heart of every human being.  This joining of hands symbolizes the meeting of two souls. Bowing down & joining hands symbolizes humility. Thus when Indians joins their hands and say Namaskar, they actually  see the Lord in the other person and believe, "I bow with deep respects to the all-loving, all-powerful and omnipresent Lord in you."

    Hope it helps
