   Day Out with Thomas is an exciting way for children and grown-ups to enter the world of Thomas & Friends. The event provides an opportunity for little engineers to ride on board a train pulled by Thomas the Tank Engine and have their pictures taken with Sir Topsham Hatt, the Controller of Thomas' Railway.
   In Australia, several railways have hosted Day out with Thomas events: in New South Wales the Zig Zag Railway, Lithgow, and the NSW Rail Transport Museum, Thirlmere; in Queensland, the Workshop Rail Museum; and in Victoria the Puffing Billy Railway, Melbourne.
   The 2011 Day out with Thomas is Australia's biggest Thomas & Friends event this year. Children can meet Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends from the Island of Sodor including The Fat Controller, Donald, Douglas, Lady, James plus Annie and Clarabel at The Workshops Rail Museum. This fun-filled event offers preschoolers and their families the opportunity to take a ride with a 15-ton replica of Thomas the Tank Engine.
