I would like to know about the validity of the Australian rail passes for travelling in trains. Any idea?

    Rail Australia gives you a choice of passes. The Rail Explorer Pass and the Ausrail Flexi Pass. These passes are available only to holders of foreign (non-Australian) passports and non-Australian residents.
    Each Rail Australia rail pass is valid for 6 months of unlimited travel beginning on the day the pass is validated. Passes are valid only for Economy/Red Kangaroo class adult travel. Discounts are available only for Rail Explorer Pass travelers with valid student or backpacker IDs. Seat reservations must be made in advance as the pass itself does not guarantee a seat. Passes must be validated within 6 month of purchase.
