   You are a polytechnic graduate passionate about upgrading yourself in the areas of Allied Health and Nursing, Design, Digital Media, Engineering and Applied Sciences and Hospitality and more. You are keen to further your expertise by pursuing a degree programme after you have obtained your polytechnic diploma, and have, perhaps, worked a few years.
   
   Some of your friends and classmates who share your passion have either gone onto local universities or overseas to improve themselves. Those who went overseas have done so because some degree programmes are not available in Singapore. You plan to follow in their footsteps too.
   
   Choose SIT
   The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) has been set up exactly for polytechnic graduates like you. Now, you can look forward to pursuing the university education of your choice in Singapore. SIT, an institution established by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), is dedicated to providing polytechnic graduates in particular, more direct and affordable routes to university education locally.
   
   Get a Degree from Overseas Universities Locally
   SIT will partner renowned universities from all over the world to offer quality degree programmes in Science and Technology as well as new degree programmes to meet growing industries. The degree programmes will be tailored to suit your preference for the applied learning, industry-oriented approach that characterises polytechnic education. The 5 polytechnics in Singapore will collaborate actively with SIT to offer the overseas universities’ degree programmes in Singapore.
   
   SIT will work with the overseas universities and polytechnics on curriculum planning and admission criteria for the degree programmes to maintain the same standards as in the universities’ home countries. The degree you get in Singapore will be campus blind. This means the quality of the degree will be no different if you have gone to that overseas university itself. The core lectures and tutorials will be taught by the academic staff of the overseas universities offering the degree programmes and local staff who would be suitably qualified by these overseas universities.
   
   Overseas Immersion Programme
   All students will have opportunities for a 3-6 week attachment at the home campuses of the overseas universities where they get to experience a different culture and interact with overseas students.
   
   Employment Prospects
   SIT will regularly consult relevant economic agencies and Ministries on their manpower projections so that the graduates of these degree programmes have good employment prospects. SIT will also adopt a total government approach to develop better manpower for Singapore.

   Full Time Degree Programmes
   In recognition of the foundation that you have already received in the polytechnics, the full-time degree programmes offered by the overseas universities in partnership with SIT will mostly be two-year programmes. Part-time programmes lasting up to four years will also be offered to polytechnic graduates who are working but are keen on upgrading their skills.
   
   A More Affordable Route to a Degree
   Through SIT, you will be able to pay less in total for a university education. The programmes will be conducted locally in the 5 polytechnics so that students in the programmes have access to all necessary facilities such as engineering laboratories for their studies. You will not have to pay for board, lodging and overseas travel expenses while you pursue a degree of the same quality as if you go overseas. The government will provide subsidies to the programmes. While the tuition fees for the programmes will vary, they will be comparable to that of the local universities.
