Does paying advertisers and publishers effect Google ranking?

One of my competitor place payed ads on his page. I tend to know if that will also affect the search indexing

    Google search results are unbiased by our relationships with paying advertisers and publishers. Adding the Google AdSense code to your site will not queue your pages for crawling by our main index bots. Google will continue to show search results according to its  PageRank technology.
