Shipwrecks are a major part of our maritime heritage and have been described as time-capsules, reflecting particular moments of the Australia’s past. The trails were established so that you can discover the stories about the local underwater maritime heritage and be informed about conditions, visibility, biology and your responsibility as a diver if diving on shipwreck sites. Below mentioned are the Australia shipwrecks overseas:
    • AE2 (1915), The AE2  became the first submarine to breach the Strait and harass its Turkish defenders. By 30 April however, AE2 was caught on the surface by Turkish warships and were forced to scuttle.
    • Historic Diving in Australia: The Niagara Gold Salvage. The recovery of eight tons of gold from the RMS Niagara during World War Two is considered the greatest gold salvage in history.
