   hit manual button to stop on the channel you wish to program.use numbers pad to punch in the frequency you wish to program including the period or point in the proper place.now hit E or enter button to save this frequency.& now you have one channel programed.follow through to the next cannel number with the next channel & frequency.make sure you always hit the enter button after putting in each frequency. now hit the scan button..sit back & listen to your scanner talk. good luck

   The BC147XLT is too old to obtain a manual from Uniden, but here's how you program it:
   
   Turn it on & press 'Manual', then enter the number of the channel you wish to program & press 'Manual' again. Now enter the frequency you want to put in that channel, example 155.550, and press "Enter'. Then press manual to go to the next channel or repeat the first procedure to select a different channel other than the next one. Repeat the programming procedure for each channel.
