How do I send my hard drive back to be replaced?

My laptop is of a current status and is capable of handling the hard drive. When I plug in the hard drive the computer message states that the hard drive is defected.

    Why am I not getting an answer to a simple question? I just need to know who or where to return my 1TV HardDrive,since I have a 1 year warranty.It was purchased through Radio Shack and the store personnel said that I would have to go online for answers.
