Applying for study visa for UK:
    1. There are 40 points in total to qualify for the Applicant for UK visa, out of which30 points are allocated for Education Provider in UK and 10 points are allocated for local sponsor outside UK (abroad). These points are calculated based upon the Rating of UK Education Provider, fulfillments of Visa letter requirement by UK Education Provider as prescribed by UKBA and fulfillments of financial requirement by the visa Applicant abroad.
    2. A VISA LETTER from UKBA Tier-4 certified college/university in UK. It must be remembered and kept in mind that even having or possessing an unconditional VISA LETTER (letter of acceptance) from any recognized institute / university from UK is not a sure shot guarantee for applicant to qualify for UK student visa.
    3. Incase the student is applying for BSC / MSC / MPhil / PHD to a college then an external registration letter is required by the degree awarding body within or outside UK (may not be a requirement in future if covered in visa letter). Deposit is mandatory for visa letter depending upon the requirement by the Education Provider.
    4. Minimum requirement of High Secondary Certificate (in most of the cases) from Pakistan for students applying for undergraduate courses in most of the colleges in UK. All original testimonials needed.
    5. Documents from your sponsor such as:
    i. Computerized bank statement on the name of Applicant or joint with the sponsor showing held funds for at least 28 days  from the day the account was open and showing minimum UK Pound Sterling 12,000 - 15,000+ or equivalent amount in Pak Rupees in balance as required to stay & study in UK to cover at least nine months of accommodation (GBP 7,200 within London or GBP 5,400 outside London or other cities)  plus initially one year of study.
ii. The computerized printout of bank statement showing held funds should  be less than a month old from date of computerized printout requested to the local bank to the time of submission to FedEx along with other documents.
iii. Income-tax returns / certificates for the last 2 years if the bank statement is joint with co-sponsor.
iv. A notarized affidavit of support from sponsor. All original docs are needed in order to apply for UK student visa.
    v. Proof of immediate and or genuine relationship with sponsor.
    6. At least one year valid passport with visa application form and four passport size photographs on non granular paper with white to off-white background (No Polaroid Photos accepted)
    7. Although no immediate requirements for English Proficiency has been outlined by UKBA for Tier-4 Point-Based System, as it might would have been left on Education Providers' discretion, requirement for IELTS (min 5.5/9.0 bandwidth) / TOEFL (min 215/300 CBT) with for most of the colleges / universities in UK although (some Education Providers may not require it), still its advisable to have IELTS/TOEFL because it shows the sincerity & genuineness of student gearing to go for higher studies in UK and therefore increases the chances to qualify for UK student visa to 25%. Note that students bearing O & A levels qualification may not require to take IELTS / TOEFL but it's good to take it.
    8. All Visa fees are now accepted in Cash at FedEx outlets for UK £ 145.00 or an equivalent of Pak Rs. (17,500) at an open market rate.
    9. All of the above mentioned original documents plus the certified / notarized photocopies of applicant's Passport, NIC card, acceptance letter and all educational docs through FedEx to British High Commission (BHC) in Islamabad.
    10. A health certificate from IOM verifying that person going for study to UK is not suffering from tuberculosis.
Applicants in Pakistan can book appointments for TB screening with the call centre operated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
