   First choose a smooth shiny festive looking  ribbon, matching your gift wrap. It would be better if you choose Christmas themed ribbons.

   
   

   Now hold out your less dominant hand and wrap the ribbon around it loosely five or six times with the other hand.

   
   

   If you wish to have a fuller bow, wrap the ribbons around your fingers a few more times, creating more loops.Now let the loops slide off your hand and fold them in half lenghtwise by pinching them in the middle and folding the ends down until they are touching each other.
   
    In order to  give additional bulk in the centeral part of the bow.Its better to cut a small "V" shape out of both sides of the folded ribbon; be careful not to cut all the way through.
   
   Use of a wire tie or a narrow coordinating bow ribbon to tie around the cut-out area will secure the bow. It's adviseable to use a  velveteen or lacy ribbons.
