Toyota announced that it has plans to increase production in North America sooner as it no longer, the reason is that it faces severe shortage of parts due to earthquake and tsunami that damaged its Japanese suppliers.

"Through lots of efforts on the part of our suppliers in order to implement the countermeasures, we have been able to return to normalized production much quicker than it was originally thought. The North American production is now expected to rise to almost 70 percent in the beginning in June from 30 percent in May. Its flagship plant in Georgetown will now restore production to almost 100 percent. It now produces the Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon and Venza. Other models that return to full production are plants like the Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Sequoia and Sienna.

The good news is that the normal operation and production has been resumed in this plant after March 11 until mid-April. The workers of plant still keep working in their normal shift times, including the non-productions days. They can report to work for training or plant improvement like maintenance, paid vacation time or the take unpaid time off. The Georgetown managements has organized workers that are able to venture out and volunteer, although they remain fully paid at their shifts during Monday and Friday.
