The Singapore poll constituencies have been redrawn by the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee. The number of constituencies has gone up from 23 to 27. Two of the existing Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) and five single-seat wards will cease to exist, giving way to new constituencies. Here’s a look at the results of the last Singapore parliamentary elections, in 2006. Some of these constituencies will no longer elect MPs in the next election. This was the first election Lee Hsien Loong fought as prime minister after assuming office on August 12, 2004, taking over from Goh Chok Tong, who is now Senior Minister. PM Lee continues to represent Ang Mo Kio and SM Goh, Marine Parade.
